Get Set Academy is committed to providing a professional, efficient, courteous and helpful training centre to all our clients. However, in the instance you feel like things have gone wrong and you are dissatisfied with our service, we want you to tell us. Then we can resolve your complaint, and try to ensure it does not happen again.
This procedure tells you how to make a complaint about any of our training services. All our staff receive guidance on how to handle complaints. We aim to deal with all complaints promptly, fairly and proportionately. All complaints will be tracked on a database and tracked to completion.
The purpose of the policy is to set out the Information, Advice and Guidance services Get SET Academy (GSA) commits to provide to potential and current learners, parents of learners under the age of 18, staff and employers.
The policy is designed to ensure consistent, effective, and fair treatment for all. This policy has been impact assessed to ensure that it does not adversely affect staff on the grounds of sex, transgender, marital or civil partnership status, racial group, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or belief disability or age. The policy should be read in conjunction with other Get SET Academy policies and procedures including the equality policy, confidentiality policy, data protection policy.
Get Set Academy is committed to providing an organisation and learning environment free from harassment, abuse, violence, bullying or any other form of anti social behaviour.
Get Set Academy recognises that through its provision of post 19 training programmes that its staff and partner organisations will need to be mindful of ‘safeguarding’ those who may be considered to be vulnerable adults.
Get SET Academy recognises that all members of staff have a duty under the Counter Terrorism and Security Act (2015) to have due regard to the need to prevent people being drawn into terrorism and to act positively to report concerns.
The Government’s Prevent strategy focusses on stopping people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. It is one part of the Government’s counter terrorism strategy, CONTEST, which is led by the Home Office. Prevent recognises that vulnerable individuals of all ages may be at risk of being exploited for terrorist related activities and as such, this policy should be read in conjunction with our Safeguarding policy.
We owe a duty of care to all staff, students & visitors. In order to discharge this duty we take steps to ensure working and learning environments are safe with risks to health being reduced to a minimum or eliminated. These steps include:
• Centre risk assessments.
• Well designed, user friendly documentation.
• Robust action plans.
• Staff awareness & training initiatives.
• H & S being an agenda item at board and centre meetings.
• H & S training to students.
• Robust vetting & approval process for placement companies.
• H & S being part of student reviews.
• Common sense at all times.
• An annual review of the policy.

This Whistleblowing Policy encourages and enables individuals to make a “protected disclosure” to raise serious concerns to the training provider in the public interest in line with the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998. We are committed to the highest possible standards of openness, honesty, integrity and accountability therefore in line with that commitment we expect people who have serious concerns about any aspect of the Get Set Academy’s work to come forward and voice those concerns.
The purpose of this policy is to provide the approved way for concerns to be raised. An individual must reasonably believe that the disclosure tends to show past, present or likely future wrongdoing falling into one or more categories
